Start now, stay motivated, and follow through!

Academics. Take courses that meet college prep (A- G) requirements as you fulfill high school graduation requirements. Keep in mind that admissions counselors will be reviewing your mid-year report as well as the final transcript.

Standardized tests. Register if you need to take or retake the ACT, SAT, SAT subject tests and/or AP tests.

Application process. Dive into applications as you narrow your college list. College fairs, campus visits, recommendations, and application essays are all part of the college application process. Pay attention to deadlines!

Money for college. There are funds available to help families pay for college, but students need to apply. Learn about financial aid at one of our Financial Aid workshops, file a FAFSA and, check the College & Career Center and Naviance for scholarships.

Acceptances, awards, and decisions. Compare offers and make your final choice.  Create an account on and use the tools under Financial Aid Planning to understand types of financial aid, and to compare your offers.

You can do it! Attend workshops and information events offered here at EC, and check in with your counselor frequently. Whatever your path, there are programs to fit your needs for life after high school.
