Students with demonstrated financial need may be eligible for college entrance exam
and application fee waivers!
COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAM FEE WAIVERS
SAT: High school students in the U.S. or U.S. territories who can't afford to pay test fees may be eligible for SAT fee waivers. Fee waivers can be used for the SAT and SAT Subject Tests. U.S. citizens living outside the U.S. may also qualify for a fee waiver.
ACT: If you are testing on a national test date and can't afford the registration fee for the ACT or ACT with writing, you may be eligible for an ACT Fee Waiver. Information about the eligibility requirements and how to request a fee waiver is sent each summer to high schools. You should work with your local high school to determine your eligibility.
COLLEGE APPLICATION FEE WAIVERS
California State University (CSU): If you file an admission application via CSU Mentor, the fee waiver request is included in the online system as part of the application process. You will be notified at the time you apply online if you qualify for the fee waiver.
The University of California (UC): UC will waive application fees for up to four campuses for qualified students who would otherwise be unable to apply for admission. The fee waiver program is for United States citizens, permanent residents, and applicants eligible for AB 540 benefits.
The Common Application: Our member colleges want to make sure that application fees do not pose a barrier for any student who wishes to apply for admission. If you feel that your financial circumstances might qualify you for an application fee waiver, you can request a fee waiver on the Profile screen in the Common Application Fee Waiver section.
